Office SnapShots a purveyor of great office design photos lists in its database this noteworthy office design project by the Airbnb Environments Team in conjunction with WRNS Studio and IDF Studio for their Brannan Street office facilities in San Francisco’s design district.

Airbnb’s design mission is best capture in this – paraphrased – statement: At our core, we are an urban brand, and our offices are meant to be in cities. To provide variety and amenities while maintaining density, we embrace sharing economy concepts instead of the traditional model of individual ownership and mass redundancy. 

Simply put, if we spend less time at our office desks for office, work, we’ll need fewer of them.  And that allows us to create a diverse range of office workspaces. • Pixar Headquarters - Emeryville, California •

As the portal Office SnapShots explains, Pixar’s headquarters story started in 1999 with Steve Jobs as the company’s CEO. Jobs brought in Bohlin Cywinski Jackson  to grow his ideas for the Office Workspace.

Jobs’ biography reads that this place was envisioned to be one that “promoted encounters and unplanned collaborations.”. At the same time, Jobs aimed at creating a place that stood the test of time. Pixar’s facilities director, Tom Carlisle, explained that “He didn’t want a standard office-park building - one with corrugated-metal siding or ribbon windows. The building had to look good 100 years from now. That was his main criterion.”

After experiencing challenges with productivity in their cubicle layout open office floor plan at their previous headquarters, Pixar chose a more enclosed design for their new space. Many offices are organized into U-shaped clusters of 5-6 individual offices, centered around a common gathering area. This type of office layout fosters spontaneous collaboration on a smaller, more intimate scale, enhancing teamwork within workspaces.

The RedBull company together with DTHREE Studio of the UK brought to life this impressive headquarters. It stands out for its flexibility and for reflecting the ethos and energy of the brand without necessarily applying the logo repeatedly.

This industrial look office interior design space was achieved by the careful selection of office furniture consisting of wood and iron to complement existing building attributes. 

This classic other-century industrial building with its high ceiling of exposed wood joists, massive timber columns and exposed brick wall screamed for an industrial look and feel.

The resulting office aesthetic was clearly an arranged marriage founded on the principle of strength in unity.

• [e-spres-oh] - Timisoara, Romania •

e-spres-oh’s office workspace in Timisoara Romania (350 miles from Bucharest) exists on three levels. The multi-level office does not diminish the office atmosphere that is decidedly laid-back with a relaxed vibe.

As happens with good office design the horse leads the cart.  In this case the rustic office space with its exposed ceiling and column of timbers pointed in one direction. Industrial office décor.
